Build Beautiful Spaces. Do Work You’re Proud Of.
At Ferguson Builders, we believe the best work happens when talented people care about what they’re building, who they’re building it for, and the team they’re building it with.
We’re a growing residential design-build company creating custom homes and renovations throughout the Greenville area. Ferguson Builders has been named to Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500 three years in a row and was recognized as one of South Carolina’s 50 Fastest Growing Companies in 2025.
We’re proud of that growth, but our People and Core Values drive us.
Teamwork. Excellence. Motivation. Greater Purpose. Ownership.
These aren’t just words on a wall. We hire by them, evaluate by them, recognize people for them, and make decisions based on them. We’re looking for people who communicate well, take ownership, care about others, pursue excellence, keep learning, and bring a motivated, can-do attitude to their work.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Design Estimator & Procurement Coordinator who understands residential construction and can turn design decisions into accurate pricing, orders, and jobsite-ready materials
.
This is an execution-focused role, not a creative design position. You’ll work alongside our Interior Designers, Project Planners, Estimating, and Production teams to make sure selections are accurately estimated, documented, priced, ordered, received, and ready when Production needs them.
You’ll need a strong working knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, tile, stone, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and other residential construction materials, including how they’re measured, specified, priced, ordered, and installed.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare takeoffs and estimates for cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, fixtures, and other design-related scopes.
- Own selection pricing and quantities, ensuring allowances, budgets, vendor pricing, and project information are accurate.
- Coordinate selection documentation, pricing, approvals, and supporting information with our Design and Project Planning teams.
- Create Purchase Orders and purchase approved materials according to project requirements and timelines.
- Track orders, lead times, backorders, deliveries, warranties, replacements, and purchasing issues through resolution.
- Receive and inspect project materials, verifying product, quantity, and condition against Purchase Orders.
- Identify and resolve damaged, missing, incorrect, or incomplete deliveries before they impact Production.
- Organize, label, protect, and store project materials and coordinate them for Production when needed.
- Work with vendors and trade partners to obtain accurate information, competitive pricing, and resolve material or order issues.
You May Be a Great Fit Here If:
- You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and naturally notice when something doesn’t look right.
- You think ahead and catch missing information or potential problems before they become bigger issues.
- You enjoy taking something from decision to execution and making sure every detail is accounted for.
- You’re comfortable managing many moving pieces without letting things fall through the cracks.
- You don’t mind being at your desk one minute and checking in a material delivery the next.
- You take ownership, follow through, and don’t need repeated reminders to get things across the finish line.
- Teamwork, Excellence, Motivation, Greater Purpose, and Ownership genuinely reflect how you work.
What We’re Looking For:
- Residential construction experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of cabinetry, countertops, tile, stone, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and other residential construction materials.
- Experience in construction estimating, purchasing, procurement, selections coordination, or a similar role.
- Ability to read plans, understand project scopes and specifications, and prepare accurate material takeoffs.
- Experience working with vendors, trade partners, quotes, Purchase Orders, lead times, and material orders.
- High level of accuracy with measurements, quantities, pricing, allowances, and other project details.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, orders, and deadlines at the same time.
- Experience with construction project management software preferred.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and learning new technology.
Physical Requirements:
This position includes hands-on receiving and material handling responsibilities.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, move, and organize boxes, samples, fixtures, and other project materials.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other approved material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform the standing, bending, reaching, and movement necessary to receive, inspect, organize, and store materials.
Benefits:
- 401(k) Match: 100% of the first 3% you contribute and 50% of the next 2%, for a maximum company match of 4%.
- Health Benefit through QSEHRA.
- Holidays Off & Vacation/PTO.
- Parental Leave.
- Company Gear & Apparel.
- Team Building & Family Events.
- Gear Share.
- Growth & Development.
- Profit Share: After 90 days, once you have taken on all your responsibilities and received a vote from the team, you’re eligible to receive a quarterly profit share. We believe sharing company profits encourages efficiency and ownership.
Your First 90 Days
All roles begin with a 90-day employment agreement so we can make sure we’re a great fit for each other. You’ll receive training and feedback as you learn our team, systems, processes, and expectations. At the end of 90 days, if we’re both feeling great about the fit, we’ll extend a new employment agreement for a permanent position.
